Timesheeting
Regardless of using Forecastify with an external system like Jira, or by itself, you can use Forecastify to log your time.
For clarification:
- When using an external system, the single source of truth remains the external system, Forecastify syncs the data periodically, and when logging via Forecastify, it will handle the API requests toward the external system, to save the worklogs there
- When SelfTracking with Forecastify, there's no synchronization, the entire process is handled within Forecastify
Reviewing Timesheets
- Users with the proper privileges can see the timesheets of all employees (or employees in their team)
- All users who are required to log their work can review their timesheets at any time
- Note that if you are using Forecastify with an external system such as Jira, the changes you make in Jira might not be immediately visible - you can always trigger a synchronization yourself!
- The timesheet page makes it very easy to check if an employee (or yourself) have logged the expected amount of time daily, or the totals for the month
- The system does NOT consider any work logged as overtime, simply because it is more than the required amount for a specific day. If you have worked overtime, you have to designate the worklog itself as overtime. This will trigger an approval process for the worklog.
Logging time
- Users are encouraged to use Forecastify to log their work, even if external systems are in use. The timelog will be added to the external system as well.
- This functionality is only available with an external system if you have added your own API key for that specific system into Forecastify - this will be used behind the scenes to make your worklog record - it will appear just as if you would have added it in the external system yourself!
- When using Forecastify, the system will be able to suggest tickets for you based on your allocations and other activity, making worklogging a breeze!
- You can also use an Excel sheet or a timer functionality on these pages if convenient!
